(Newser) – With tonight's presidential debate a go, and happily coinciding with TGIF festivities, Neel Shah rolls out Radar’s debate drinking game. Some highlights:

  • Take a sip when: John McCain calls himself a maverick; Barack Obama rolls his eyes as McCain calls himself a maverick; McCain calls viewers his friends; Obama calls viewers his brothers.

  • Take a gulp when: McCain contradicts his pronouncement that “the fundamentals of our economy are still strong”; Obama admits he can’t control what comes out of Joe Biden’s mouth.
  • Chug, chug, chug when: McCain announces he’s in fact proficient in HTML and C++; Obama says he was only looking for bikini pics when he hacked Sarah Palin’s Yahoo account.

Down the rest of your drink if John McCain says he can't make the debate after all because he's supposed to appear on Letterman.

Take a sip of your beverage of choice when: John McCain equates Barack Obama with a lack of experience; Barack Obama equates John McCain with George Bush's 8 years of experience.

Chug that thing if Jim Lehrer asks Barack Obama how it would feel to be the US' first Muslim president.
