(NEWSER) - Sometimes a celebrity engagement makes you go awww; other times it makes you go ewww. Olivia Allin lists eight betrothals that definitely fall into the latter category, on The Frisky :

• Linda Hogan: Hulk Hogan’s ex-wife, 50, just got engaged to a 21-year-old…but the truly creepy part is that he was a friend of her son’s, and went to the same school as her one-year-older daughter.
• Jamie Lynn Spears: She was only 16 years old and pregnant when she got engaged to babydaddy Casey Aldridge. Fortunately, they came to their senses and called it off.

Today's moms are better educated, less married

(NEWSER) - For the first time, the number of babies born to women over 35 exceeds the number being born to teens, reports the Pew Research Center. Of 2008's 4 million births, one in seven were to older mothers, while one in 10 were to teens. Reports that couple was already married were untrue

(NEWSER) - Reports that Chelsea Clinton married beau Marc Mezvinsky last summer were false, but now they’re engaged for real, the two revealed in a mass email on Friday. A spokesman for Bill Clinton confirmed that this time Chelsea, 29, really is tying the knot with Mezvinsky, son of former House members Ed Mezvinsky and Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky. (NEWSER) - Britney Spears is engaged to be married to agent/lover Jason Trawick, Star reports. The two have been in an on-again, off-again relationship for 3 years, but sealed the deal on a recent Bahamas vacation. “He didn’t exactly get down on one knee, but Brit didn’t care,” an insider said. “She said yes, and they opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate.” There are plans for a December wedding after Spears’ tour is finished.
