(Newser) – Fans aren't the only ones who will mourn the end of the Harry Potter series. Author JK Rowling "absolutely howled" as she wrote one of the concluding chapters of the final volume of the wildly successful seven-book series, the BBC reports. But she was also elated that Harry's adventures are finally over.

The billionaire writer confessed to a TV host that she downed half a bottle of champagne and cried until her mascara ran after wrapping up "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" in a solitary hotel room. Rowling also revealed that "scar," once believed to conclude the book and series, is "quite near the end, but it's not the last word."
