With just two weeks until the election, none of the four candidates has released full medical documents—and one, Sarah Palin, has released nothing at all. The nominees' refusal to disclose their medical records is a major change from recent practice, when health information about Ronald Reagan, Paul Tsongas, Bill Bradley, and Dick Cheney was thoroughly scrutinized, reports the New York Times. All four candidates refused a Times request for a medical interview.

John McCain has released the most information at 1,200 pages, but presented inconsistent records about his melanoma, which could be fatal in a more severe form. Joe Biden, who twice underwent surgery for aneurysms, has also released incomplete documents. Barack Obama released test results last week showing him in good health, but gaps remain about his history of smoking. Nothing is know of Palin's health, other than the circumstances of her fifth child's birth.
