Joe the Plumber is mulling a 2010 congressional bid. The man John McCain turned into an instant celebrity—and the centerpiece of the GOP campaign in the home stretch—told radio host Laura Ingraham yesterday he might take on a highly popular incumbent in northern Ohio, CNN reports. “I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight,” said Joe Wurzelbacher. “But, you know, I'd be up for it.”

The GOP congressional committee would embrace his candidacy with “open arms,” it said. Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur is a 25-year veteran who won her most recent reelection with nearly 75% of the vote.
