(Newser) – Under pressure from Kabbalah bosses, Madonna called soon-to-be-ex Guy Ritchie late Tuesday in an emotional plea to settle their divorce amicably, after which she sobbed to her staff, the Daily Mail reports. Insiders, who described the call as a “sign of desperation” on Madonna’s part, said she tried to remind him of the “good times,” but Ritchie wouldn't budge.

“She said the leaks of hurtful stories would only get worse,” a source explained. “Guy stayed quiet for most of the call, gave very little away and at the end said it was now in the hands of the lawyers.”
