Idol mogul's lack of desire to settle down sped split with Seymour, Ma Cowell says

(Newser) – Simon Cowell might have gone back to an old flame after his breakup with girlfriend Terri Seymour, with the American Idol judge’s mother telling the Daily Mail differing views on settling down doomed the relationship. “The split was really based on the fact that she wanted a baby and to get married,” said Julie Cowell, 82.

“I knew they were talking about it. Simon has a right to his own life, we all do, but Terri wanted a baby and things didn’t work out,” she added. “Simon has always said, ‘I don’t want to get married and I certainly don’t want a family.’” Simon Cowell has been spotted around London with singer/actress Sinitta, whom he first dated 18 years ago.
