(Newser) – Former DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe, most recently in the headlines as chair of Hillary Clinton's foiled presidential campaign, is considering running for governor of Virginia, Politico reports. "I plan on spending the next two months having a conversation with Virginians," McAuliffe, who has also publicly weighed running for governor of Florida, said on his website.

Hey, I'm a Democrat, and I'm sure McAuliffe is a great guy, but VA is not NY, I really don't think VA voters will go for a candidate who has not been a full time resident. The Governorship of VA, once held by Thomas Jefferson himself, will not be won by a part time resident. Just the fact he's let it be known he is 'shopping' around for what state to run in is odd. PS Mark Warner will be a great President some day.
