(Newser) – Spencer Elden, instantly recognizable from a photo snapped 17 years ago for the cover of Nirvana’s seminal album Nevermind, got back into the same California pool recently to update the shot, Chris Vinnicombe reports for MusicRadar.com. “For reasons known only to himself,” and wearing a swimsuit, Elden recreated the moment at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.

“It's kind of creepy that many people have seen me naked,” Elden told MTV. “I feel like I'm the world's biggest porn star.” And a player, too. Though his parents were paid only $200 for the famous shot, it was well worth it. “I have to use stupid pickup lines like, ‘You want to see my penis … again?'”

Just think, in the time it's taken the Nevermind baby to grow up, the world is still waiting for Axl Rose to release the first meaningful follow-up to Guns N' Roses' 1991 Use Your Illusion albums.

Effing ridiculous. Naked pictures of babies are primo blackmail material for moms needing attention from their kids. Seriously. I have naked pictures of all my sweet cuddly kids in infancy. It's often the ONLY time one's children are cuddly. It's not the fault of babies that they are adorable. It's the sexualization of EVERYTHING by the media that suddenly makes naked baby pictures wrong. If a few perverts are turned on the joy and innocence of infancy shouldn't be hidden from everyone. Oh, and BTW was "seminal album" a pun intended?
