Spencer Elden, instantly recognizable from a photo snapped 17 years ago for the cover of Nirvana’s seminal album Nevermind, got back into the same California pool recently to update the shot, Chris Vinnicombe reports for MusicRadar.com. “For reasons known only to himself,” and wearing a swimsuit, Elden recreated the moment at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.

“It's kind of creepy that many people have seen me naked,” Elden told MTV. “I feel like I'm the world's biggest porn star.” And a player, too. Though his parents were paid only $200 for the famous shot, it was well worth it. “I have to use stupid pickup lines like, ‘You want to see my penis … again?'” (More album sales stories.)
