(Newser) – Sounds like Alex Rodriguez is caught between a rock star and a familiar place. The Yankees’ third baseman still loves ex-wife Cynthia, reports the New York Post’s Page Six, but he’s “in awe of Madonna,” says a baseball insider. He’s reportedly asking Cynthia, his “true love and best friend,” to wait out his “obsession.” She'll have to do so alone, though: Madge doesn’t want the Rodriguezes spending any time together.

(NEWSER) - The man who was convicted of stalking Madonna and threatening to slit her throat in the 1990s was apprehended today, after escaping a week ago from the Los Angeles mental health facility where he's been held since last year. (NEWSER) - Madonna "dragged" daughter Lourdes into a small part in her new movie WE ... and then cut her from it. "It was quite unfair of me, what I did and what I asked her to do," the Material Girl tells MTV in a recent interview. "But she was really great, and then I ended up cutting her out of the film. Ruthless, I know. I said, 'Sorry babe, you're on the cutting room floor.' She took it like a champ." (NEWSER) - The longstanding Elton John-Madonna feud showed no signs of cooling down last night, when John's husband David Furnish took to Facebook to slam Madonna after she beat out John in the best song category. "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!" he wrote, according to TMZ . Furnish continued, "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."
