Fla. Governor Joins Green Revolution

Posted Jul 13, 07 12:12 PM CDT in US Politics Business Science & Health

(Newser) – Florida governor Charlie Crist is taking the green revolution farther down the road traveled in California, with an executive order setting the nation's toughest emission standards. Highly vulnerable to climate change, the fourth largest state will catalyze legal, business and attitude shifts throughout the country, says the Economist.

Businesses will have to decide whether to meet new standards or to sue over them. California is battling both the EPA and automakers over the state's authority to regulate the issue; Crist’s move will increases the pressure, as the states together will have enormous clout.  Florida citizens, as well, will be forced to make tough energy decisions.
