Clooney Slams Gay Marriage Ban

(Newser) – George Clooney is none too happy with residents of California for passing Proposition 8, reports E! Online. The actor says he looks forward to the day when opponents of gay marriage “will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the school steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black.”

Can't we all just get along? Who cares if gays marry??? i'd understand if you were upset if you heard that Straights weren't allowed to marry; But u still get to eat the marriage pie - so enjoy it for yourself and let others eat theirs in peace.

(NEWSER) - A big win for gay rights in California, at least for now: In a 2-1 decision, a federal appeals court ruled that the state's ban on gay marriages is unconstitutional. Supporters of Proposition 8, which limits marriage to a man and a woman, plan to appeal, paving the way for a Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage as early as next year, reports the Los Angeles Times . Decision can still be appealed to larger panel, Supreme Court

(NEWSER) - Californians are awaiting a ruling today on whether the state's Proposition 8 banning gay marriage is constitutional. A three-judge panel of the US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will decide if the law, passed by referendum in 2008, violates equal protection and due process. A lower court shot down the ban, but a stay was placed on the ruling at least until the current court's decision. The losing party can appeal to a larger panel of the court and, ultimately, the Supreme Court. More»
