A 56-year-old father of two has been implicated in the murders of six people along his southern truck route, the AP reports. Bruce Mendenhall was picked up in Nashville yesterday while circling the scene of a killing last month. Police officers noticed that his bright yellow truck matched the description of a vehicle seen the night before a young woman's body was found; a search turned up incriminating blood stains.

Under questioning, Mendenhall implicated himself in six other murders at truck stops in four states—Tennessee, Georgia, Indiana and Alabama. “He seemed somewhat cooperative, maybe a little nervous,” said one detective. He was arrested and charged with the June 26 murder of a Tennessee woman. (More homicide stories.)
