Brother Blames Abdul for Idol Reject's Death

She didn't stick up for his sister during her failed audition

(Newser) – The brother of an obsessed Paula Abdul fan ripped into the Idol judge, blaming her for his sister’s downward spiral and death, the New York Post reports. Paula Goodspeed, who was found dead in her car near Abdul’s house this week, took wicked criticism—especially from Simon Cowell, who made fun of her braces—after her audition in season 5. Abdul “didn’t speak up for her,” the brother complained. “She let everyone take her down.”

Goodspeed’s brother disputes that his sister's drug overdose was intentional, but he blames Abdul for helping crush her dreams of stardom. Goodspeed was a rabid Abdul fan, even changing her first name in honor of the singer. Days before her death, Goodspeed sent Abdul flowers. “The flower thing was really scary,” a source tells People. “Paula really couldn't handle that. She was terrified.”

Okay, first of all, the woman was an adult and was responsible for her own actions, second of all I saw the audition, the woman COULD NOT SING.

I just don't get that show and why it is so popular. Isn't there enough ridiculing in the world that we need to have it broadcast into our homes?

Saw this coming, those people on that show are f'ed up. Its sad the way that show glamorizes the whole 'Hollywood criticism' thing, its a horribly stupid show.
