(NEWSER) - Drew Barrymore is getting married , but first she's—reportedly—converting to Judaism, the religion fiance Will Kopelman practices. She follows the tradition of these seven other celebrity spouses (or not-quite-spouses) who did the same thing, notes The Frisky :

• Isla Fisher: Converted to Judaism for Sacha Baron Cohen.
• Jesus Luz: Started following Kabbalah for Madonna.

Official magazine's statement prompts police inquiry

(NEWSER) - Former Jehovah’s Witnesses—as well as some current ones—are protesting after the religion’s official magazine called those who quit the religion mentally ill. “Apostates are 'mentally diseased', and they seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings,” said an article in the July issue of Watchtower. Critics say the comment may break British laws on religious hatred, and police are investigating their complaints, the Independent reports. More»

(NEWSER) - Phil Collins is quitting music—and he basically thinks the planet's reaction will be good riddance. "I don't think anyone's going to miss me," the former Genesis drummer told FHM magazine, via the Telegraph . Highlights from the interview:

• Health is a big issue: Among his ailments: ruined hearing in his left ear, a dislocated vertebra in his neck, nerve damage in his hands. He said: "I think of it like air miles—it's all part of the job. I'm not worried about not being able to play the drums again, I'm more worried about being able to cut a loaf of bread safely or building things for my kids."

Neil Diamond, Tom Waits among others who join him

(NEWSER) - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is about to get decidedly more rocking: Alice Cooper is among the latest to join its ranks. Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John, and Darlene Love will also be inducted, reports the New York Times , citing an announcement expected today. Other than Love, a back-up and occasional lead singer from the 1960s, all are first-time nominees.
