Beverly Hills Turf War Splits Wealthy Residents

Residents of ritzy enclaves head to court over access, upkeep fees

Share

(Newser) – A turf war has broken out between two upscale Beverly Hills enclaves, home to the likes of movie mogul Sumner Redstone and basketball legend Magic Johnson, the Los Angeles Business Journal reports. Residents of North Beverly Park got fed up with nannies and other employees of their South Beverly Park neighbors using their private road and banned them from doing so.

“Their gardeners were coming through on off days,” griped one North Beverly resident. “At what point does it become abusive?” South Beverly refused mediation, and a jury trial is upcoming. “I would be outraged if my workers and guests had to make a huge detour to reach my property,” said a Northern resident who is siding with the South. The detour can add 7 miles.

Can you believe it they are still idiots, just pretty , buffed, self important idiots. GOD Bless America indeed. Reply

The two enclaves should share the security and gate costs of BOTH gates. It seems moronic to limit one side to one gate and the other to the other gate when both entrances/exits are needed. Reply

This goes to show people change when the get rich. They think of the working class as some kind of slave. Some Gardeners make pretty good money and if I was a nanny to one of these kids brats I would run!!!!! This is America and their is no second rate class here we are all equals. If not for the working class who would get the job done? The rich basketball guy can he grow the food that goes into his mouth? The actress can she sew the clothes she puts on each day? That says just all we need to say -THEY NEED US!!! Reply
