For Devotees, Twilight More a Lusty Dawn

The hotly anticipated vampire movie Twilight doesn’t open until midnight tonight, but teenage girls have already sunk their teeth into lead actor Robert Pattinson, CNN reports. Pattinson portrays Edward Cullen, hero of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling novels. He’s “this incredibly seductive creature wanting to bite your neck,” the director says. “And if he does, it could be pleasurable. If he goes too far, you could die.”

Meyer’s vampires appeal to teens because, unlike their predecessors, they could be peers. Edward wears trendy clothes, listens to cool music, and doesn’t even drink human blood. Kristen Stewart, who plays love interest Bella Swan, says Twilight fans are so hot for her costar, she’s getting dirty looks. “Like, I’m here for Edward, and I hope you don’t ruin the movie,” Stewart says.
