Britney: 'I Feel Like an Old Person Now'

Pop star discusses her new life, dating, her kids, and her ex

(Newser) – Britney Spears is picking up the pieces in her new—and incredibly micromanaged—life, USA Today reports. In an interview that hits stands Friday, the pop star tells Rolling Stone magazine, “I feel like an old person now. I go to bed at, like, 9:30 every night. I don't go out or anything.” But when she does, she's carefully guarded: The singer’s dates are chaperoned by an assistant and her manager’s colleague, and she is never left alone during interviews.

Spears has come a long way from last year’s breakdown, and is able to see her sons more often—thanks in part to her father’s legal conservatorship. “They’re such special people,” she said of the boys, who "are starting to learn words like 'stupid,' and Preston says the f-word now sometimes. He doesn't get it from us. He must get it from his daddy. I say it, but not around my kids."

"Her job is to be Britney Spears, and that job bleeds into her personal life and creates this situation where she needs to have security people around her all the time," manager Larry Rudolph said.   (Getty Images)
