(Newser) – David Gregory is about to get the nod as host of NBC’s Meet the Press, reports Huffington Post. The chief White House correspondent has been a top contender for the spot since Tim Russert’s death in June. An announcement is expected as soon as today, reports Politico, giving one of TV's most high-profile franchises to a 38-year-old with a "sharp edge leavened by a youthful style and versatility."

Dear Sir, I'm a medical transportation person for a large chain of clinics in san antonio, tx. I'm not on either side. I'm afraid you guys are out of touch with what real people are actaually thinking, and worried about. The people down here that voted for obama wanted change from george bush, not to change america into another country. I've heard from thousands of clients here, and they are scared to death of the way things are going with the health care bill. None of them want the public option. They want the reforms that would make sence. Like put caps on what the trial lawyers could sue Doctors for and make insurance portable so people could shop from state to state. With this new healh care bill there would still be 25 million people uninsured. We all think that Obama is just another power mad, greedy polititon, trying to screw the american people. And this comes from some one who voted for him. Then on your show sunday, you said that he was alianating himself from his bass, bacause he was flaxible on the public option. The whole clinic started laughing, The base you're talking about are the democrats on capital hill, not the democrats who actaually leave in the real world, who have pay for this fiasco. We are starting to think the republicans are right on this, and this is just a grab for power . Thank You James
