Barbara Bush is headed home today, reports the Houston Chronicle, less than a week after surgery on a perforated ulcer that left her, in her husband’s words, “in extraordinary agony.” Though the former first lady skipped a hastily assembled news conference, her husband said she was recovering well and had spent Thanksgiving with son Neil and family in the hospital. “Barb’s feeling much better,” he said. “I’ll be glad to get her home.” (More Barbara Bush stories.)
