Fran Drescher offers to take over Hillary Clinton's Senate seat

(Newser) – Fran Drescher has a great idea for a well-known woman to inherit Hillary Clinton's Senate seat, and it's not Caroline Kennedy, reports New York. The face—and, even more memorably, the voice—of the 1990s sitcom The Nanny proposes herself. OK, so she's never run for public office, but she was recently named a diplomatic envoy for the US, traveling to developing nations to speak about women's health issues.

The cancer survivor and activist says she'd already been considering a run for office. “I was thinking I’d take the next four years to lay some groundwork, but I’m throwing my hat in the ring.” Her strongest claim to being the best woman for the job? “I’m an authentic and honest person,” she says. “And I think Capitol Hill needs more of that.”

What kind of political history does Fran have? According to Stormy7 all you need to do is support Clinton and go to a Super Tuesday rally in support of Clinton. Well hot dang that makes me a super candidate because I voted for Bill twice and he actually won. I'll support Fran, but this is just as ridiculous as Franken.

I think Fran would be a fantastic choice. She's not afraid of stepping into Hillary's shoe. All Kennedy has is her famous name.
