A Web company has profited off the George W. Bush Presidential Library to the tune of $35,000, the Dallas Morning News reports. The Internet firm that was contracted to develop the library’s website and had purchased www.GeorgeWBushLibrary.com in 2007 unknowingly let the domain license lapse, and a savvy North Carolina company snapped it up for $10.
In April, Illuminati Karate sold the domain back to Yuma Solutions for a profit of $34,990. “It worked out very well,” Illuminati’s lead developer said. “I think they wanted it back pretty badly.” Yuma, which had first purchased the name for $3,000, has apparently absorbed the cost of the mistake. A Bush Library official said he had no knowledge of the transaction.
