23-year-old 'never said she was going to marry him'—oh, and she has a live-in boyfriend

(Newser) – No stranger to controversy in his romantic dealings, Drew Peterson is now facing off with the family of the 23-year-old woman he says will become the fifth Mrs Peterson, the Chicago Tribune reports. Waitress Christina Raines has some kind of relationship with Peterson, but that’s where the agreement ends; Peterson says they’re engaged, Raines’ father says they’re just dating, while her live-in boyfriend claims they’re just friends. "She never said, 'Yes, I will marry you,' " the boyfriend insists.

Peterson announced last week that he and Raines were engaged, and says that she broke up with her boyfriend, who “is going loony over this.” But Raines’ half-brother says she has been confused: “She's probably telling us one thing and telling [Peterson] another.” “This is in his head,” Raines’ father adds.
