(Newser) – It was a sleepy open on Wall Street today, as the major stock indexes mostly jogged in place on low volume, the Wall Street Journal reports. The Dow inched up 50 points, while the Nasdaq and S&P lost 0.6% and 0.7% respectively. The government reported a third-quarter 0.5% contraction in the economy, which was the worst move since 2001, but expected by market analysts.
