The bodies of seven Canadian snowmobilers killed in two avalanches have been recovered by a search team in British Columbia, reports the Vancouver Sun. The double tragedy occurred as survivors of a first avalanche searched desperately for their friends before they, too, were engulfed by snow. The search for an eighth victim was suspended yesterday due to inclement weather.

"The families of the victims are congregated together in support of each other. I believe they all expect the worst in a situation like this," said a spokesman for the rescue team. "Searchers put the labor in front of their emotions. The emotional impact grips you once it's over."
