The search for a woman missing from a cruise ship off Mexico since Christmas has been suspended, reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Jennifer Ellis-Seitz of is believed to have gone overboard from the Norwegian Pearl near Cancun in what may have been a suicide. Her husband—arrested in April for assaulting his wife—did not report her missing for eight hours, but her family does not suspect foul play.

Ellis-Seitz had "previous emotional issues," according to a statement by family members, who believe the Florida journalist "chose an unfortunate ending to her life." FBI agents are analyzing a ship videotape believed to show Ellis-Seitz falling 15 stories into the sea to determine whether she jumped, fell or was pushed. Agents are interviewing the ship's crew and passengers, many of whom say they hadn't been told that somebody was missing.
