Vick Barred From Falcons Training Camp

Posted Jul 24, 07 6:20 AM CDT in Sports Gossip Crime & Courts US

(Newser) – Atlanta quarterback MIchael Vick has been barred from the Falcons training camp by National Football Commissioner Roger Goodell until the league can review federal dogfighting charges against him. "While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility to determine whether your conduct violated league policies," Goodell wrote in a letter to Vick.

Vick won't forfeit any of his summer pay. The league will complete its review, which will likely involve discussions with federal law enforcement officials, as quickly as possible, Goodell said. Public pressure has been mounting on the league and the Falcons to take some kind of action. The Falcons open camp Thursday, the same day Vick is scheduled to be arraigned .
