(Newser) – Lisa Marie Presley's reaching out to John Travolta and Kelly Preston, while also calling out those who have used their son's death to trash Scientology, Us magazine reports. “Folks, as popular as it has been to discriminate and ridicule Scientology and Scientologists in the recent past, now is NOT the time,” she wrote on her MySpace blog yesterday, calling condemnation of the religion “an unconstitutional injustice.”

“It is not true that Scientologists ‘don't believe in’ medical care, medicine, or medical doctors,” Elvis' only child continues. “Whatever medical and/or physical condition Jett had, I can tell you firsthand that his parents were on a tireless, never-ending quest to get and provide him with the absolute best care anyone could ever ask for and need—medically, physically, emotionally, medicinally, and spiritually.”

Just like anyone else, if one is sick, they go to the doctor. If a medication will make it better, then they take it. If they don’t, then they are an idiot, and you can't blame their religion. - Lisa Marie Presley, on Scientologists

Yes I do have words.... You obviously do not have a serious medical condition that puts your life at risk. Perhaps if you did, you would seek the necessary treatment in order to stay alive. Wouldn't you? Then again, if you had the condition this child did, your medical decisiions would be left to be detremined bysomeone else, because you would not be capable of making the decision, just as Jett could not. Once again, I say..."Who speaks for these children?' You are an adult, and you can choose whatever medical treatment you desire, but are you a medical professional that is able to determine what kind of treatment your child would need for such a serious neurological medical problem that this boy suffered from? Would you not seek out all available avenues of treatment available to keep your child alive? I think you would. Selah

I'm so tired of people trashing and belittling other people's personal choices. At least know what you're talking about before passing judgement. As a Pagan for the last decade+, I can empathize with anyone who is judged on nothing else but a personal choice made for personal reasons. I don't like all these pharmaceutical companies trying to force all their drugs on an unsuspecting public, so I use natural healing, ie herbs, Ayurveda, etal. But I'm sure Hisvoice and Caps and others like them will have some words about this, as well.
