Salon Changes Name From Ossama's to Obama's

A Chicago salon named Ossama’s Hair Design has seen a marked uptick in business after changing its name to Obama’s, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. “This is going to work for me for sure,” said Mike Elsheikh, the shop’s owner. “The name is absolutely making a huge difference.” He licensed the name during the election: “I had a good imagination he would win.”
“A lot of customers stopped coming after Sept. 11,” Elsheikh said. Now, “old customers have come by and said, ‘We like it much better.’" It appeals to new patrons, too: Business has improved in the 2 weeks since the name change, thanks in part to tourists snapping photos. Elsheikh expressed another rationale for the change: “Obama's gonna get Osama.”
