(Newser) – Michael Moore may have gone too far this time: Prize-winning photographer Michael Yon is readying a lawsuit against the filmmaker for using one of his iconic photos from Iraq without permission, the New York Post reports. The image of an American soldier carrying the bloody body of an Iraqi child was voted the top photo of 2005 by Time readers. Moore posted it on his website last year.

“The implication on Moore's website was that our soldiers were somehow responsible for that kid being wounded. That is absolutely not true. She was the victim of an insurgent's car bomb,” said Yon’s lawyer. The photographer, who tried to contact Moore for seven months without response, added, “I've never sued anyone in my life. It looks like Mr Moore might be the first.”

While Mr. Moore was fabricating lies and half truths Yon was serving in the special forces and, after his enlistment, as a freelance reporter in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Read his blogs to learn the truth about both that you won't hear from Moore or most of the media.
