Beast star on the mend after week being treated for pneumonia

(Newser) – Patrick Swayze is on the mend after being released from the hospital after a weeklong stay being treated for pneumonia. The actor, whose new TV drama The Beast premiered Thursday, is fighting pancreatic cancer but says his spirit remains strong. "I am alive and plan on continuing to stay that way," he recently told People.
