(Newser) – Whoopi Goldberg and comedian Sherri Shepherd will be adding their views to daytime television this fall. "The View” will announce the new additions next week, the LA Times reports, two months after Rosie O’Donnell’s acrimonious departure.

The women's chat fest has been something of a cat fight lately: last summer, Star Jones Reynolds made her own abrupt exit from the show, after clashing with doyenne and executive producer Barbara Walters. Meredith Vieira also decamped for the Today show. Meanwhile, O’Donnell is slated to appear in a New York musical revival next spring.
