Niche Cruises Set Sail
The Carnival Cruises ship Splendor arrives in Dover, England. Carnival hosts a variety of specialty cruises catering to sci-fi and clothing-optional fans alike.    (Carnival Cruise Lines)

Increasingly popular niche cruises offer seafarers a chance to indulge in all manner of hobbies, fantasies and obsessions on the high seas, reports Travel and Leisure: For instance:

  • Star Trek/Buffy the Vampire Slayer: This week-long cruise offers fan conventions complete with autograph-signing celebs, star-studded karaoke and a chance to dine with a cast member and intermingle where no one has intermingled before.

  • Hogs on the High Seas: Go biker casual for this week-long, tequila-fueled floating trade show. Calling at Mexican ports, the cruise includes special “biker activities” including Sexy Señorita and Topless Hombre contests. You might even win a bike.
  • Cruising Naked: Grab your sunblock and little else for a clothing-optional week between Tampa and Cozumel. Visit the pool, casino and disco in your birthday suit—just bring along some shorts for the steak house.
