Comedian? Poet? Vampire? Anything but Governor

(Newser) – Rod Blagojevich probably didn’t help his case with his whirlwind media tour yesterday, “but he just might establish himself as an unofficial poet laureate of the criminal justice system,” Dana Milbank writes in the Washington Post. Blago quoted Tennyson and Kipling all day, proclaimed his innocence, compared himself to MLK and Ghandi. He even let The View’s Joy Behar muss his hair.

It was tempting to laugh, but it looked more like a horror movie to Illinois politicos, John Kass notes in the Chicago Tribune. Blago, the living (politically) dead, said “cackling politicians” were impeaching him “because there’s a whole bunch of things they don’t want known.” Maybe we should have a View-esque show with four sassy federal prosecutors interviewing a willing “Gov. Nosferatu.”

Instead of lumpy comics touching his hair, how about four tough, bright female federal prosecutors interviewing a cooperating Gov. Nosferatu in the federal building? - John Kass

Seeing him up there on the comfy couch, I couldn't stop thinking of The Brides of Dracula. Happily, on The View there was no Victorian passion. Yet Gov. Nosferatu was quite safe, as was Dracula with his brides. - John Kass
