Iconic '80s supermodel makes one-off return for couture week

French supermodel Inès de Fressange stole the show as Jean Paul Gaultier showed off his couture collection in Paris yesterday, AFP reports. The 50-year-old Fressange, an iconic model of the '80s but long absent from the catwalk, drew applause from the crowd as she appeared in a body-hugging black gown.

Gaultier said Fressange was ideal for showing off his sensual Spanish-themed designs and to demonstrate models "are not just 14-year-olds," and that there is no age "barrier to beauty." Fressange was moved by the warm reception but said the return to the catwalk was a one-off.  "This is not my job anymore," she said.
