(Newser) – Santonio Holmes snagged a pass from Ben Roethlisberger with 35 seconds left in regulation and tiptoed into the history books with a touchdown reception that gave the Steelers a 27-23 victory over the Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII tonight in Tampa. Pittsburgh, a 7-point favorite going in, had trailed 23-20 after Arizona took its first lead of the game with 2:37 to play.

"Great players step up in big-time games to make plays," Holmes, the game's MVP, said after his team rebounded from blowing a 20-7 lead and withstood a review of the decisive TD. "I knew it was a touchdown 100 percent. My feet never left the ground. All I did was stand up on my toes and extended my hands."
