(Newser) – Back to her trim hourglass self, Jessica Alba now admits she cried during rigorous post-baby workouts. "I did it for the Campari (calendar) job," the 28-year-old actress tells Elle. "It was horrible." An easier beauty secret: She wore a girdle for weeks after giving birth. Busily back at work, Alba uses Skype to watch her daughter. "The worst is seeing her little chubby hands grab the screen," she says in tears.

Alba dismisses the media hype around her "exotic" look, but proudly places herself beside Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez. "We look like people of the world," she says. The chameleon also enjoys mixing up her fashion—combining the casual and delicate, masculine and feminine. "I've always loved beautiful clothes, but I'm not very hip," she says.
