Born In The Spotlight

Actor kids take up family biz

(Newser) – Some strive for the spotlight. Others are simply born into it. From Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s brood of young actors (daughter Kate Hudson and sons Oliver Hudson and Wyatt Russell) to Jane and Peter Fonda (spawn of Henry), the second-generation stars in this Vanity Fair collection were all born into fame and decided to stay there, many weaving dramatic off-screen narratives along the way. Among the best known:

  1. Two decades before Angelina Jolie was Girl, Interrupted, father Jon Voight was blazing trails in Midnight Cowboy and Coming Home.
  2. Before she was Iron Man’s on-screen assistant, Gwyneth Paltrow was Oscar-winning mom Blythe Danner’s sidekick.
  3. Tough-as-nails Josh Brolin was once the bundle of joy on the knee of Emmy Award-winning father James Brolin.
  4. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have passed on their talented genes to their actor children Jaden and Willow.
