Caylee Anthony’s funeral drew an estimated 1,200 mourners today, many of whom hadn’t even met the slain tot, the Orlando Sentinel reports. “When you watch it every day on TV, you feel like you’re a part of it,” said one man. Others said they needed closure, or felt "compelled to see this to the end." But one person who’s definitely not watching? Caylee’s accused murderer and mom, Casey Anthony.

Anthony is on record as objecting to the public ceremony, which was planned by her parents, George and Cindy. “I still don't want the public with cameras and everyone around for Caylee's funeral service,” she said in a statement released through her attorney. “I can't stop my parents from doing what they want. I truly hope it will help them.” (More Caylee Anthony stories.)
