Jacko May Have Flesh-Eating Bug

King of Pop said to suffer from MRSA-style infection

(Newser) – Michael Jackson is suffering from a flesh-eating infection similar to MRSA, sources tell the Sun. In the past week Jackson has made two visits to a clinic in Beverly Hills, covering his face with a mask and his hair with a surgical cap. Doctors speculate that he may have contracted the infection following plastic surgery on his nose.

The King of Pop, 50, has been on an antibiotic drip to fight the infection, which may have spread throughout his body. Photos taken as he left the clinic showed hands inflamed with purplish blotches. A spokesman for Jackson did not return calls, although last month he insisted that the pop star was "in fine health."
