(Newser) – Madonna is the same age as her latest lover’s grandmother, the New York Post reports. Brazilian model Jesus Pinto da Luz met Madge at a photo shoot, before spending the Christmas holidays with the 50-year-old pop star in the Maldives. The 22-year-old's family thinks Madonna has kidnapped him to New York, and Brazilian media reports say her handlers confiscated his cellphone.

"I thought the whole thing was bizarre because it seemed like they were controlling him," da Luz’s former modeling rep says. The model’s mother, who is 14 years younger than Madonna, is a devout Christian who worries the singer is luring her son into Kabbalah. She has received just one text message from her son since he left, telling her he wouldn't be home for Christmas.

Dude, she's 36. And you don't know the context (cultural or otherwise) of her impregnation. So stopping projecting the mores you learned in your native Lunchmeat, Kansas onto the rest of the world. Please.

Someone having a child at 14 is probably too ignorant to have anything to cling to other than religion, so you just KNOW how pious she is.

I believe the "Christian cult" you're referring to might otherwise be known as Latin culture.
