(Newser) – Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel appeared together in a surprise reunion at a Manhattan weekend concert, Reuters reports. It was only the third time the famous duo, now both 67, have performed together since a 2004 reunion tour. Garfunkel appeared on stage to sing The Sound of Silence, The Boxer and Old Friends during the encore of Simon's concert at the restored Beacon Theatre, where the audience included Mayor Bloomberg, Paul McCartney and Jon Bon Jovi.

The Reuters article describes "Loves Me Like a Rock" as "a 1973 precursor to Simon's future dabbling in African music."... WTF?... because there were black backup singers on that song?
