(Newser) – Congratulations are probably in order for YouTube’s latest celebrity: a Chinese woman whose temper tantrum at Hong Kong’s international airport has become the viral sideshow du jour, attracting more than half a million viewers to date. After missing her flight to San Francisco, the hysterical woman charges the security guard at the departure gate, then screams at the top of her lungs for 3 solid minutes.

At one point, the woman rolls around on the ground screaming, “I want to go, I want to go,” in Cantonese, while a Cathay Pacific staff member says, “Don’t be so upset, don’t be so emotional.” Embarrassing stuff, sure, but Gawker’s Ryan Tate feels her pain. “In a way, everyone, somewhere inside, has missed a Hong Kong to San Francisco flight, and felt like staging an impromptu Chinese opera.”

This is such an invasion of privacy. I live in Hong Kong, and know very well that this filming was carried out by airport staff, who has clearly broken the code of conduct. This should've never been posted in the first place! Let's get past her hysterical facade and delve into the fact that this woman could've been your mother or relative. Would it be so funny now?
