pplgoncrazi...What 100,000 did Bush kill? Are you kidding with this question? This number is actually low for total killed or maimed. Why don't you look into how many Iraqi's have been killed? And in case you don't know, Iraq had no connection to the US attack on 911. So, if the number of Iraqi citizens doesn't bother you in the attack on Iraq. Dead Iraqis count as dead human beings also, altho you wouldn't perceive it that way, and the man responsible for them is bush. Ask the Kuwaiti's, well there was testimony before Congress in 91 (Gulf War I) from nurses from the Kuwaiti hospitals telling tales of horror how Iraqui soldiers took infants from incubators and bashed their heads on the floor. Turns out they weren't nurses at all but Kuwaiti princesses, spreading these outrageous lies, with the full knowledge of bush Sr's cronies to convince a gullible congress to go to war against hussien. Of course, we did restore 'democracy' in Kuwait, or their version of it, the sheiks and the princesses got their palaces back, at the cost of our blood and treasure. 8 years later the same lying bunch have us back in Iraq because Saudi Arabs attacked us. Probably makes sense to you, doesn't to me. But this is all off topic anyway, the cartoon is the issue, or non issue. It refers to a chimp that went crazy and nearly killed a lady, and the chimp was killed. The post is a right wing rag, therefore opposed to the stimulus package. As I see the cartoon, they are parodying congress, dems, whomever. I doubt that Barack took it personally, and I see no reason to believe it was referring to him personally. Bush was often referred to on lib blogs as a smirking chimp, it could just as easily be interpreted as an incitement to kill him. Just because it isn't funny to me, doesn't mean it is an incitement to violence or racist. Chimps have been employed in cartoons for ages to imply stupidity or recklessness. This is no big whoop. Obama did not write the bill. Pelosi/Reid did. That's why it is so bad. The chimp was a bash on them. They are both white folks. You can bash them all you want without being called racist/ sexist or some other "ist". The story has nothing to do with Bush who is no longer significant. Reply

ECP...you kook! Let's take a different angle on this WMD thing. Let's pretend King George and Darth Cheney are our leaders and it is 2003. Suddenly, out of know where, Iraq attacks the US. If our army failed to stand up and fight, how long would it take for King George to press the button to use our WMD's against Iraq? We have them and you can bet the King would have used them. So, if you are having trouble keeping up. If Saddam/Hitler had them, we sure do have a lot of dead soldiers as proof of their use. Reply

There are 2 things going on here. 1. The parody of the stimulus bill and the chimp incident. 2. The long history of whites calling blacks, chimps, chimpanzees, and monkeys to infer that they are stupid and inferior. The people who are unaware of this history can't see the cartoon as racist because of this and because of the chimpanzee attack against backdrop of the stimulus bill. The people who are aware of the history see a picture of 2 white guys killing a chimp (2 whites killing a black), and at the same time they're aware that we have a black president. If I'm black, I'm pissed even if people say that that cartoon can only mean one thing. It can definitely be racist even if it wasn't meant to be. The cartoon is in the eye of the beholder. It is what we think it is. Don't tell me that it can only mean "one" thing. Can it be racist? Yes. We should have a pole. DO YOU LIKE BLACKS? The people who say no are racists. The people who say yes, not all, some, are not racists. DO YOU LIKE WHITES? The people who say no are racists. The people who say yes, not all, some, are not racists....That's like one group saying apple pie tastes great. Then the other group says, no, it tastes like sh#@...how could you say that!?...Is that cartoon racist for everyone? We're hearing it's not. Is that a non racist cartoon? Does anyone see the big picture yet? If I drew the cartoon and didn't imply racism, but then saw how so many people saw racism. I would say thatt was not my intention, but I do see how some can see it that way. Then I would apologize, because some people got hurt. Racism hurts to the core. It's being bad for not doing anything. Hate me for something I did. Don't hate me for something I have no control over. If you're going to hate someone, have balls and hate an action, not the whole race of people. Reply
