(Newser) – Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg returned to the Supreme Court today, 18 days after her surgery for pancreatic cancer, the AP reports. Doctors gave her an encouraging prognosis after removing a small malignant tumor, but in a speech this weekend, Sen. Jim Bunning said Ginsburg would be dead within 9 months, the Courier-Journal reports. She has “bad cancer. The kind you don’t get better from,” the Kentucky Republican said.

“Even though she was operated on, usually, nine months is the longest that anybody would live" after diagnosis, he said. The American Cancer Society gives people with Stage 1 pancreatic cancer a 21-37% chance of living more than 5 years.

I do believe to many balls hit this Bunning in the head and they should have hit him in the mouth. Maybe then he would shut the hell up.

just what we need first the republcans screw up the economy and now they are in the doctor business. I thought they didnt stand for nationalized medicine> perhaps bunning did get hit in the head too many times while playing ball.

Just what we need - medical prognosis from a ultra right wing ex baseball player. I'm glad he's managed to study medicine. He probably does it during that supposed 1 hour a week work he performs for his charitable foundation while drawing an annual salary of over $100K. Republicans are pigs.
