Accused Pa. Killer, 11, Moves to Juvie

(Newser) – Jordan Brown, the 11-year-old Pennsylvania boy charged with murdering his father’s pregnant girlfriend, has been moved from county jail to a nearby juvenile facility, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Officials had said the jail wasn’t appropriate for the young suspect, and a judge OK’d the transfer yesterday. “I know he is considered an adult under the law, but he is an 11-year-old,” the DA said.

Meanwhile, Brown’s lawyer argued that the boy should be released pending further legal action; he has a bail hearing on Monday. His lawyer said the child does not have access to money or transportation, and strong ties to the community, and is thus not a flight risk. Furthermore, “proof of a minor child's guilt is not evident,” he said, and “the presumption of guilt is not great.”

How do you know whagt he did were you there? He's still a kid and it is still the state's responsibility to protect him. He hasn't even been to trial yet and has admitted to nothing. How about they lock you up for being plain stupid.

Known murderer? How about alleged murderer. Who witnessed this crime? An 11 year old boy who is being accused of murder, a 7 year old girl and a 4 year old girl. The boy has not admitted to anything. So how is it that you are convicting him before he has been tried? I bet you'd have a different outlook if it were one of your kids in his shoes huh?

The child is a 'known murderer'? How is that possible before a trial? Simply being charged is all the evidence you need? You should move to China or Iran where that maybe true, but in America, we require proof beyond a reasonable doubt to a moral certainty. Bummer for you blood lust types
