'Bourne' Is a Bullet of a Movie

Posted Aug 3, 07 8:51 AM CDT in Arts & Living Gossip US

(Newser) – America's favorite amnesiac CIA agent, Jason Bourne, is caught up again in fast-paced and far-flung action in the thinking-man's thriller threequel The Bourne Ultimatum, which critics gave high marks for both psychological acuity and adrenaline. The New York Post calls Ultimatum a "potent PowerBar of a movie—all protein and no fat."

The LA Times gives Matt Damon a lot of the credit for making Ultimatum irresistible, calling his Bourne "the humblest and most relatable existentialist government-made killing machine ever devised." The New Yorker, among others, notes that Damon looks like a bullet, and acts like a bullet—"ricocheting off walls, windows, cars, and fences"—in a movie that moves like a bullet.
