Sebelius Tapped for Health Post

By the Associated Press

(AP) – Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is President Barack Obama's choice for secretary of health and human services, a White House source said today. Sebelius, 60, was an early Obama supporter who picked his presidential campaign over that of Hillary Rodham Clinton and worked tirelessly for Obama's bid. Obama will formally announce her nomination on Monday, the source told the AP.

Sebelius drew praise for the consumer watchdog role she played as Kansas insurance commissioner for 8 years before she became governor. Abortion foes strongly oppose her because, as governor, she once had a reception attended by a late-term abortion provider who now faces criminal charges. Democrats say there was never any doubt that Obama would appoint a health secretary who supports abortion rights.

justme, it is not the doctor's decision; it is not the state's decision; it is the mother's decision. Before you try and cast blame, at least put the responsibility where it belongs. You want to try again?

Well Doc, I guess we should continue to kill more babies so that the mothers and fathers are not inconvenienced. How many abortions are just post-facto birth control? How few have anything to do with any real medical issues?
