Just back from holiday, Amy Winehouse has been charged with assault for allegedly punching a fan in September, the Daily Mirror reports. Winehouse, who was singing back-up for her goddaughter at a charity ball when a dancer asked for a photo, reportedly smacked her in the eye and screamed, “Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.” She is due in court March 17.

Winehouse was aiming for a fresh start upon her return to London, planning to learn to drive as a distraction from the temptation of drugs, the Sun notes. But sources told the Mirror she was back to her old antics at a gig last night, becoming aggressive with a fan and smashing drinks on the floor.
