An Ohio man accused of killing his wife and four children took his own life today when police cornered him in a bathroom, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Following a tip, Cleveland police and US marshals were hunting room-to-room in a house when they found Davon Crawford, 33, hiding behind a shower curtain. "When he spotted the agents, then he took his own life," police told CNN.

A 7-year-old boy is still in hospital after being shot by Crawford, police say. His 2-month-old daughter—who was there when Crawford allegedly killed his wife, her sister, and her sister's children—is safe and unharmed. Police suspect that a family dispute led to the killings, but have not released details. Crawford's criminal record included a manslaughter conviction and two 5-year prison sentences.
